Native Plantings to Beautify Entrances to Lancaster

BLUEGRASS PRIDE NATIVE PLANTS BEAUTIFICATION GRANT ($1,000) awarded to Garrard County.

Native plants will soon beautify entrances into Lancaster, blooming June-October.

June/July= Bee Balm, Slender Mountain Mint, Little Bluestem. Sept/Oct= Narrow Leaved Sunflower, Smooth Blue Aster, Prairie Dropseed. June/July= Purple Coneflower, Orange Coneflower, Little Bluestem. June-Sept.= Hairy Wild Petunia, Rough-fruited St. John's-wort, Side-oats Grama.

Brownie Troop 133 will plant in May, assisted by Farmer’s Market & Nature’s Thyme Herb Club. If you would like to help, call Maria Turner, project coordinator, 859-792-8923.
